Software Option: Automessage

FUNCTION:

• Off: Message complete.
• On: Message for receiver. Tone alert is activated.
• Slow Blink: Important message for receiver. Tone alert is activated.
• Fast Blink: Receiver can't take message. Sender take a note.
• Erratic Blink (blip blip-blip): No one found or doctors' conference.

APPLICATION:
Automessage lights are used to communicate with doctors using the Doctor Sequence (Next Patient) function. The system software is capable of searching for the doctor's Fast Blink light in any sequence and signaling the doctor for a response. The following four scenarios will demonstrate the use and flexibility of the Automessage system.

Scenario 1:
A phone call is received for Dr. Red. The operator presses the doctor's message button once. The system software searches for Dr. Red's Fast Blink light which indicates his room location. The message light goes On and a tone sounds on the inside room panel at his location. The doctor decides to take the call. He signals the operator by pressing the message button once, advancing it to the Off state.

Scenario 2:
An important phone call is received for Dr. Red. The operator double taps (tap tap) Dr. Red's message button. The system software searches for Dr. Red's Fast Blink light. The message light begins to Slow Blink and a tone sounds on the inside room panel at his location. The doctor decides to take the call. He signals the operator by pressing the message button once, advancing it to the Off state.

Scenario 3:
A phone call is received for Dr. Red. The operator presses Dr. Red's message button once. The system software searches for Dr. Red's Fast Blink light. It causes his message light to go On and a tone to sound on the inside room panel at his location. The doctor decides not to take the call. He signals the operator by double tapping (tap tap) the message button. The message light begins to Fast Blink at both locations. The operator presses the message button once, advancing it to the Off state, and takes a written message from the caller.

Scenario 4:
A phone call is received for Dr. Red. The operator presses Dr. Red's message button once. The system software searches for Dr. Red's Fast Blink light. The operator's message light exhibits the Erratic Blink state signifying the doctor was not found. The operator presses the message button once, advancing it to the Off state, and takes a written message from the caller.

OTHER FEATURES: If more than one doctor (doctors' conference) is found in a room during a message search, the operator's message light exhibits the Erratic Blink pattern.
